Team Challenge Company had the pleasure of hosting a fun filled morning and afternoon in the style of our famous Crystal Challenge and Ultimate Game Show in Glasgow at the wonderful Hampden Park Stadium for Oaktree Housing.

As the guests began to arrive they had no idea what they had let themselves in for. There were a lot of nervous faces up until the days’ activities were explained and then the guests were only interested in taking the Team Challenge Company Winners Trophy home - but there would only be one champion!

The teams split into their 8 groups for their first team activities which were Interlocker, Crane Construction and Labyrinth & Jigsaw and NASA Challenge. Over at Interlocker, instructions were given to the teams and the group had 1 minute to devise the best plan that allowed them to complete the 3D puzzle in their given time - never an easy task!

As always there was some super clever people in the teams in both the team and individual activities taking on each and every activity - some even using techniques that we had never seen before!

NASA challenge was a great head to head battle, getting all the teams involved. The team had to score under 25 points in order to take away a Crystal. The packs were handed out and the teams found a spot to discuss which order they should rank the items in. Time was up and all the teams crowded round the leaders as they showed which cards they ranked from most important to the least important. Scores ranged from an excellent Lift Off 11 to a thanks for turning up 42 – stay on earth please!

It was time for the penultimate round which was the one and only Bridge Build! The teams raced against the time to build the most amazing bridges we have seen and of course also allowed the car to cross! All teams measured the gap of the podiums and the height but one team did not measure it correctly and that was Team 3... They paid the price! The teams then stepped up to the Crystal Dome Finale. Team 666 The number of the Beast was unfortunately disqualified using the most illegal technique we have ever witnessed! But what a success it was for Team 2 Cool For This, managing to gain their team a massive haul of fake cash, but would that be enough to take home the trophy?

The scores were checked and verified - just look at the photos!

1st - Two Cool For This

Last - One No Direction.

Disqualified - 666 The Number Of The Beast

Early indications were that Team 2 Cool For This were ones to watch going into the afternoon Ultimate Game Show.  Round one of this afternoon quiz event was Higher or Lower and the team who took top points were 3’s A Crowd.  This explosive round was followed swiftly by Guess The Soapstar, Memory Test Where and Dingbats with a huge debate about whether we were playing correct or nearly correct! Complete the Chorus round was a complete hoot – we are definitely thru to the judges houses! And name the TV Theme Tune wrecked everyone’s brains!

The time had come for finale the Price is Right bar was set rather low as one team only totalled the prizes to £12,000 - it was 1986 prices not 1686 !,

Ultimate Game Show results:

1st - After Eights                                           2nd - Two Cool For This

3rd - One No Direction                             4th - Seven Dwarfs

5th - Threes A Crowd                                 6th - Fantastic Five

7th - 666 Number Of The Beast          8th - For Feck Sake

We like to say a massive well done to Sean for organising this amazing event for Oaktree Housing and managing to keep the details a secret! We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Friday was excellent and any staff I’ve spoken to about it appeared to have had fun. Please pass on my thanks to Stephen, Adam and the rest of the team on the day for their efforts. Thank-you also to both Heidi and Erin for all the work done in the lead up to the day.
